Sahara Stadium Kingsmead T20 double header sold out

Friday’s doubleheader of international T20 cricket action at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead – home of the Sunfoil Dolphins – has officially been declared a sell out as cricket enthusiasts the province over scramble to be a part of the action when South Africa take on Australia in the first of three KFC T20 Series encounters.

‘Sold out’ signs went up as early as Monday morning ahead of the much anticipated encounter with many looking forward to being a part of the electric atmosphere on Friday.

“With the Oxigen Proteas gearing up for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 in India, it is great to see Durban and the rest of KZN getting behind our national heroes,” said Sunfoil Dolphins CEO, Pete de Wet.

“We have been treated to a wealth of international cricket at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead this season, with Durban showing on each occasion just why it is such a great location for international matches.

“We can’t wait to play host to Friday’s exciting encounter between two of the world’s top cricket nations,” he added.

With local lads David Miller, Imran Tahir and Kyle Abbott all part of the Proteas mix, many will be hoping the hometown heroes will be given the opportunity to wow the Durban crowd while global superstars such as AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, David Warner and Glen Maxwell will bring even more to the mouth-watering mix.

Durbanites are also expected to extend their support of their national teams when the Momentum Proteas take on the West Indies Women in a T20 international earlier in the day.

The Oxigen Proteas’ first of three KFC T20 Series clashes with Australia takes place at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Friday, 4 March at 18h00 while the Momentum Proteas match against West Indies Women gets underway at 13h15 at the same venue.
