KwaZulu-Natal Inland regional champions Hilton College beat their Coastal counterparts Glenwood High School by 6 runs in the KZN Provincial final of the Coca-Cola Schools Twenty20 Competition at the Chatsworth Oval on Friday February to book their spot in the national showdown at the end of February.
Hilton College amassed 103 for four after winning the toss and batting first with Gavin Morris getting 34 and Julian Yeats 34. Josh Henry was the pick of the bowlers for Glenwood, taking 1 for 17 in four overs.
Chasing 104 for victory, Glenwood High fell agonizingly short when they were bowled out for 97. Jordan Grobbelaar top scored with 23 and Ethan Bosch was the pick of Hilton’s bowlers with his effort of 2/15 in his 4 overs.
Gavin Morris was named both best batsmen and man of the match while Ethan Bosch took home the bowling award.
Hilton College now join the five other provincial winners in the Coca-Cola Schools Twenty20 national finals from the 20–22 February in Stellenbosch.
