Brewing giant, South African Breweries (SAB) and the Sunfoil Dolphins’ long standing relationship will continue for at least another three years after the recent confirmation of SAB’s extension of their sponsorship of the KwaZulu-Natal franchise.
Through their Castle Lager brand, the deal sees SAB receive exclusive pouring, activation and promotional rights for all beer, cider like and mixed alcoholic beverage categories within the Sahara Stadium Kingsmead precinct until 31 March 2019.
“Castle Lager is synonymous with cricket in South Africa and we are excited to renew our longstanding relationship with SAB for a further three years,” confirms Sunfoil Dolphins CEO, Pete de Wet.
“We have worked really hard at improving our fan experience on match days and SAB play a vital role in us getting that balance right.
“This renewal further entrenches Castle Lager as a supporter of Dolphins cricket and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship going forward,” he adds.
SAB’s Regional Event and Sponsorship Manager, Grant Rowley – a former Dolphins cricketer himself – echoes De Wet’s sentiments and looks forward to enjoying celebratory drinks from Sahara Stadium Kingsmead’s renowned Castle Corner in the South West corner of the ground.
“At SAB it is our belief that sport not only brings people together, but brings change to local communities as well, hence our long association with sport throughout South Africa,” says Rowley.
“KZN is no different and so it is exciting to remain on board at the Sunfoil Dolphins for the coming three years.
“We have enjoyed many great times and a fantastic relationship with the Dolphins in the past and it is great to be able to continue our innings with them.”
