Yesterday saw the conclusion of an intensive two day capacity building programme conducted by the KZNCU, DSR and Sunfoil Township and Rural Development Programme in the Harry Gwala District.
Fifty teachers and community members from Umzimkulu, Ixopo and Kokstad attended a course in which they were introduced to cricket through intensive theoretical and practical training for two days, after which they wrote an examination.
The course was overseen and conducted by Sanelisiwe Kuzwayo the manager of the KZNCU, DSR and Sunfoil Township and Rural Development Programme, her administrative staff and two supervisors and session coaches who form part of the programme.
It is in line with the vision of the programme to grow cricket in all corners of the province.
Moving forward, attendees will pass the knowledge and skills they have acquired on to learners attending schools in the district.
