  • Ball and Best edge England ahead 29 Jul 2010 | 11:09 pm

After two tense days England edged ahead on the third day of their hard fought tussle against Sri Lanka after three wickets apiece to Jacob Ball and Paul Best restricted Sri Lanka to 171 for 7 at Scarborough

  • Morgan proves the man for all formats 29 Jul 2010 | 11:01 pm

Eoin Morgan's impact on the first day at Trent Bridge was so emphatic, at times you wondered what all the pre-match fuss had been about

  • Uncertain Kaneria fails to make his mark 29 Jul 2010 | 10:48 pm

Under bright skies in Nottingham and on a dry, low pitch, today was not a day for the fast bowlers to run rampant. Instead with plenty of turn on offer it was a day begging for the spinners to take control

  • Pakistan hopeful batsmen can undo fielding errors 29 Jul 2010 | 10:45 pm

After the high of Headingley, Pakistan's new-found confidence took something of a battering on the first day at Trent Bridge, as a combination of missed chances, squandered reviews and a double-hundred partnership between Eoin Morgan and Paul Collingwood

  • Teams share points after another washout 29 Jul 2010 | 10:30 pm

Trinidad has turned out to be a nightmare for the organisers with yet another match - the second - to be abandoned without a ball being bowled

The inaugural Standard Bank Schools Pro20 Challenge which was launched on January 20 has been very popular among the participating schools.

With over 300 schools participating nationally, after being chosen by Cricket South Africa’s 16 affiliates who nominated the schools from their respective regions, the tournament is producing some fine talent.

The format will see an initial round robin regional phase followed by a provincial eight-team play-off, culminating in a Final.

Regional games got underway on January 20 and will finish on March 3.This will be followed by Provincial Finals on March 6 and 7, Franchise Finals on March 20 with the final taking place in early April.

Prize money will be allocated to winning schools at the different levels of competition with the understanding that the money must be used for the development of cricket at these schools.

Thirty three schools, comprising of eight groups are participating in the KZN Region. At the conclusion of the pool stages, the winners of each pool will progress to the weekend round of fixtures where they will be divided into two pools of four and will play a round robin format. The winners of each pool will progress to the finals.
