School’s Stars Receive their Caps PDF Print E-mail

The Kwa Zulu Natal Cricket Union hosted the KZN School’s capping ceremony on Friday, November 13 at the Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.

The KZN Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, Under 19, as well as the Under 19 girl’s and Under 17 rural teams received their caps from former Natal cricketers Neville Wright, Patrick Compton, Jugoo Govender and Yacoob Omar.

 

The under 13 team will  play in the Standard Bank week in Cape-Town from December 13 to 17 while their Under 15 colleagues play in the Cricket South Africa U15 week in Pretoria from December 14 to 18.

 

The Under 17 boy’s week will be held in Grahamstown from December 13 to 17, while the U19 week takes place in Benoni from December 12 to 16.

 

The Under 19 girl’s will play in the girl’s week in East London from December 13 to 17 while the rural team play’s in the U17 Rural Boys week in Paarl from December 13 to 17.

 

“For me, the school’s capping ceremony is one of the most important functions that we host. I would like to wish all the teams the best of luck for the different weeks and may we see match-winning performances from our future talent. By delivering Big Match Temperament performances, our players will develop and improve their mental strength. This is an essential component of future success,” Jesse Chellan, CEO of the KZNCU told the huge crowd of teachers, parents and pupils that were present at the function.
