Imraan Khan added another honor to his name when he was named as one of the five Mutual & Federal Cricketers of the year in Johannesburg on Monday at the launch of the Mutual & Federal SA Cricket Annual.

Together with JP Duminy, Roelof van der Merwe, Wendell Bossenger and Claude Henderson, Khan was recognized for an outstanding 2008/09 season in which he scored 961 runs from 12 first class matches with a highest score of 145 against the Nashua Cape Cobras in Pietermaritzburg. He scored five hundreds in total at an average of 53, 58 and ended the season by being rewarded with a test cap against Australia in Cape-Town.

“It’s a nice achievement and always great to be recognized for performing well. Hopefully I can build on that and lead the Dolphins successfully,” said an elated Khan.

The 628 page cricket Annual is a publication that contains full reports and statistics of matches in South Africa from international matches to junior cricket. It also includes contributions from South African coach Mickey Arthur and the ICC’s manager of umpires and match referees Vincent van der Bijl as well as colour photos and full profiles of the five cricketers of the year.
