Sanath Jayasuriya landed on South African soil yesterday 13 November at OR Thambo Airport to a hearty welcome by the Nashua Dolphin team and management.

He was immediately whisked away to his first match for the Dolphins in the MTN Domestic Championship game in Potchefstroom against the bizhub Highveld Lions taking place today.

Happy to be finally be here, and looking forward to playing on South African soil, Sanath seemed relaxed and ready for an intense season of cricket with the Nashua Dolphins.

The Nashua Dolphins have announced their squad for the inaugural edition of the Champions League Twenty20 to be played in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai from December 3 to 10, 2008.

The Dolphins and the Titans qualified to take part in the Championship League T20 tournament after fighting their way into the finals of the Standard Bank Pro20 series.

HASHIM AMLA took his career to yet another new high when he was named MTN man of the series when the MTN three-match series finished at East London's Buffalo Park on Wednesday.

The final match was abandoned without a ball being bowled after heavy overnight and morning rain left the outfield totally flooded. The Proteas' Standard Bank ODI squad thus won the series 2-0 to confirm their ranking as the No. 2 team on the LG ICC world rankings behind Australia.

Amla has won two MTN man of the match awards in recent ODIs against Kenya at the De Beers Diamond Oval and against Bangladesh at Willowmoore Park. On the latter occasion, his10th ODI, he scored his maiden limited overs century and took his career strike rate above the 90 percent mark.

The first of the MTN Domestic Championship matches start this week with the Nashua Dolphins playing the bizhub Highveld Lions in Senwes Park on Friday 14 November 2008.

An exciting addition to the squad, is the renowned Sri-Lankan batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya, who will make his debut playing for the Dolphins in this 45-over game.
